Randy Scott is SVP & Counsel at First American Title Insurance Company, serving as Managing Director – Strategic Accounts for its National Commercial Services division and President of the First American Title UCC Division. With deep expertise in real estate title insurance and UCC Article 9, Randall oversees sales, legal, and management functions and frequently presents on commercial finance topics, including mezzanine financing and title underwriting.
He joined First American in 1999, holding various leadership roles, including Eastern Region Managing Director before his current position. Previously, Randall practiced law in Maryland for nearly two decades, focusing on business, commercial, and real estate law. He earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he served on Law Review and Moot Court Board, and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
General Counsel, UCC Division
Bradley Gibson is General Counsel for First American Title’s UCC Division, where he has served since 2007. A Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, Brad has held leadership roles with the ABA’s UCC Committee and the Financial Lawyers Conference.
He is a published author on UCC topics and a frequent speaker on Articles 8 and 9, including presentations for the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and testimony before Nebraska’s legislature. Brad earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine and his J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
Brian Tran is Senior Underwriting Counsel for the UCC Division of First American Title Insurance Company. He also serves on the board of Faxxon Legal Information Service and serves as an officer with Financial Lawyers Conference. After spending nearly 15 years litigating in the courtroom, he joined the UCC Division and now provides legal and underwriting support to the UCC Insurance underwriters.
After leaving private practice and prior to joining the UCC Division, Brian was trial counsel with the First American Law Group representing insured clients in trials, arbitrations and mediations. In his spare time, you can usually find him training for marathons, roasting his own coffee beans or attending music concerts.
